Thank You Letters Notes Cards Moving

Those who help others move voluntarily take on hours of back-breaking and often frustrating physical labour. For the most part those who help others with moving are usually good friends, but this does not mean that their assistance should be taken for granted. Thanking these individuals with a sincere thank you letter is a nice way to let them know that their generosity was greatly appreciated.

Content of a Thank You Letter for Help With Moving

A thank you letter sent to someone after (s)he helped with moving should begin with an explicit message of thanks for his or her assistance. Details of how exactly (s)he helped the writer should also be included, whether it was by wrapping breakables, packing boxes or physically moving furniture. Individuals who helped load a moving van, unload a moving van and/or unpack boxes in a new home should also be thanked for these efforts. It is also nice to include details of why this help was important to the writer. Perhaps the writer could not afford to hire professional moving help, or the writer was stressed out and needed the recipient's calming influence, or the writer was anxious until the recipient's sense of humour helped him or her to relax. However the recipient helped the writer should be detailed so that the recipient can truly understand why his or her help was so valued during the moving process.

Presentation of a Thank You Letter for Help With Moving

Most people do not volunteer to help with moving unless they are close to the people involved in the move. This means that formal, typed letters are not usually appropriate for thank you letters for help with moving. Instead, handwritten notes on nice paper, notecards or commercial thank you cards are often better options. Sending a thank you letter via email or e-card might also be appropriate if both the writer and recipient communicate with these methods on a regular basis. Thank you letters for help with moving can be posted, delivered by hand or included with a thank you gift. They should be timed to be delivered to the recipient within a week from when the move took place, even if the writer plans to thank the recipient with a gift or surprise at a later date.

Dear Veronica and Vincent,

Thank you again for your help with our recent move. We could not have gotten through the same amount of work that weekend if it weren't for your expert packing and your help with the heavy lifting. Not to mention we certainly would not have been as cheerful without your jokes and entertaining stories! We are looking very forward to treating you to a lovely dinner once we have our new home in order, but in the meantime we did not want you to think that we had forgotten about your generosity with your time and energy. Please find attached two gift certificates for massages of your choice to help ease the tired muscles you no doubt incurred while helping us.

Thank you again,

Nancy and Sid
